What he loves most about his work is seeing the results of the team’s effort come to life, especially when patients return months later with their babies in their arms. One of his most meaningful memories is receiving a call from a patient who, despite a poor prognosis, became a father — and phoned personally to thank Mauro for helping make that moment possible.
