Rute Goncalves

Rute Goncalves is a Senior Healthcare Assistant and HFEA Deputy Data Coordinator at London Women’s Clinic, where she has been a valued member of the team for over 14 years. With extensive experience in pre-treatment care, Rute supports patients through every stage of their fertility journey — from completing consent forms and introducing electronic systems, to taking screening bloods, teaching medication protocols, and guiding patients through self-injections. She also assists doctors during key procedures such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers, aquascans, and HyCoSy procedures.

Rute is passionate about working in fertility because, as she describes it, “it’s a job like no other.” She recognises that many patients arrive after facing difficult and emotional journeys and considers it both a privilege and a personal mission to support them with empathy and care. Having experienced infertility herself, she brings a unique depth of understanding and compassion to her role. While she doesn’t name one specific memory, Rute finds deep reward in the strong bonds she builds with patients and the trust they place in her throughout their treatment.
